McAllen pediatric services
We know a hospital can be an overwhelming place for children, so we work hard to create a safe, comfortable and family-centered environment. Our pediatric department includes a Kids Express Center, where children can feel at ease while gaining a better understanding of the hospital and their treatment schedule with the help of trained staff.
Our full surgical and diagnostic capabilities are specially designed to treat children so they can have a better quality of life. In the case your child needs to be transferred to a higher level of care, we're prepared to provide 24/7 transport to specialized facilities with more advanced care.

Neonatal intensive care unit
We provide specialized care for premature babies and critically ill newborns in our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our NICU is staffed by neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists who provide 24/7 in-house neonatal care.
Pediatric emergency care
We provide pediatric emergency care in a safe, comfortable, child-friendly environment. Our pediatric ERs offer specialized care in the case your little one is experiencing a high fever, broken bone, or another condition that requires immediate attention.
Pediatric emergency care teams include board-certified pediatricians, ER physicians and specialists, as well as registered nurses skilled in communicating with and caring for children.
Pediatric intensive care unit
Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is staffed 24/7 by a team of specially trained experts that provide care for critically ill or injured children who require intensive monitoring. Our unit also includes a "step-down" area for children who need less intensive monitoring and are nearly ready to leave the PICU.
