Regional Medical Laboratory – North

Regional Medical Laboratory, a department of Rio Grande Regional Hospital, provides convenient and affordable laboratory and wellness screening services to north McAllen and surrounding communities. We offer fast, on-site testing to check for diabetes, cholesterol, liver or kidney function, pregnancy and more. All tests are performed under the direction of a board certified medical director.

We provide a range of preventative and wellness health screenings, including:

• Basic Wellness Screening: Includes complete metabolic panel, lipid and complete blood count
• Male Executive Profile: Includes Basic Wellness Screening, prostate specific antigen and testosterone levels
• Female Executive Profile: Includes Basic Wellness Screening, thyroid stimulating hormone and iron levels
• Heart Profile: Includes cardio c-reactive protein, homocysteine levels and lipid panel
• Hemoglobin A1C: Average blood sugar levels for the last 90 days
• Vitamin D: Indicates possible deficiencies

For accurate results, fasting is required for 12 to 14 hours. No food or drink except for water.

Walk-ins welcomed. No physician order necessary for wellness screenings. Screenings are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or most private insurance.
