Joe M. Vela, newly appointed chief financial officer for Rio Grande Regional Hospital
McAllen, TX – Rio Grande Regional Hospital announced Joe M. Vela has been named chief financial officer of Rio Grande Regional Hospital, effective June 19, 2023.
Vela, a Rio Grande Valley native, commenced his career in healthcare with an administrative fellowship at Driscoll Children's Hospital, Corpus Christi. He brings over ten years of leadership experience in hospital healthcare finance, strategic business development, and operations.

In addition to the administrative fellowship Vela earned at Driscoll Children's Hospital, Corpus Christi, Vela earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Brownsville.
