Members of the neuroendovascular program celebrate their 100th case milestone with hospital leadership.

Rio Grande Regional Hospital (RGRH) celebrated its neuroendovascular program team for completing 100 successful cerebral angiograms. These cases included diagnostics, mechanical thrombectomies, carotid stenting, and other procedures. This groundbreaking achievement marks a significant milestone in the field of neurology at Rio Grande Regional Hospital as they begin to offer comprehensive stroke care in the community.

“This accomplishment is a testament to our commitment to providing cutting-edge medical care to our community,” said Laura Disque, CEO at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. “I am so proud of our neuroendovascular program team led by Dr. Hamzah M. Saei for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the care and improvement of human life. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed and are deeply appreciated.”

“The neuroendovascular program was as a concept seven years ago,” said Dr. Saei. “We began the execution of the program three years ago. With the addition and expansion of the neuroscience program to include epilepsy, stroke, neurocritical care, neurosurgery, general neurology, and neuroendovascular specialists, we created a strong base and foundation for comprehensive neurologic care. The addition of Drs. McMahon, Pulido, Arismendez, Desai, Berry, and Tan give us the robust coverage the valley needs and deserves.”

Neuroendovascular and cerebral angiography are advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques used to evaluate and treat conditions affecting the blood vessels of the brain and spinal cord. These procedures involve using minimally invasive techniques, such as catheters and imaging guidance, to access and treat the affected areas. By utilizing these innovative approaches, our neurosurgeons can provide patients with more precise diagnoses and targeted treatments, resulting in improved outcomes and faster recovery times.
