Children's Medical Center
When it comes to caring for the little ones, we know that being in the hospital isn’t the same for kids as it is for adults. And we realize parents expect only the very best care for their children.
We provide the specialized expertise of a comprehensive pediatrics team – committed to excellence and innovation in caring for our youngest patients – close to home. No hospital in the Rio Grande Valley has dedicated more resources to caring for sick children than we have.

Call-A-Nurse for Children
Call-A-Nurse for Children is designed to help parents get information about their sick child during times when physicians’ offices are traditionally closed. Parents can call 618-CARE (618-2273) and speak to a registered nurse Monday-Friday from 5:00 pm-8:00 am and around-the-clock on weekends and on major holidays.
The nurses participating in the program follow approved pediatric protocols and pediatric triage guidelines. The nurse will be able to help parents know whether a child needs to be seen immediately and if there are some measures the parent can do at home to relieve symptoms. The nurse will also work with parents to reassess the sick child’s status within a certain period of time to make sure the child is feeling better.
